Thats my play for + 170. I simply like the plus money here and i believe there is a good chance of a fast ending.
Beck has knocked out alot of guys pretty fast and wants to catch Barrett early which is not a bad strategy against Monte because he is normally a slow starter.
Beck has fought nobody even remotley in the same league as Barrett and he was down two times against horrible fighters (not early in his carrier but very recently not a good sign at all) Info on Beck is terrible alot of talk but nearly noone has actually seen this guy fight for more than two rounds.
Bottom line is he is aggressive can punch and has a suspectible chin i like that combination for under bets.
Barrett wants to impress and sees this fight as a chance to make a point.
I have a felling that these guys get it on right away and somebody is going down most likely Beck but maybe even both guys.
Barrett was in there with quality fighters and hold his own and is better trained and focused than ever.
I failed to find weigh in picks and weight for this fight. If somebody has some info i would be thankful.
THIS IS NOT A STRONG PLAY its not even a regular recommendation not enough info on Beck and Barrett is tough to knock out and Beck can box for 12 rounds.
I play it for a couple of hundreds because i want some action but follow me on your own danger.

easy money

owen beck and monte barett are both marginal fighters at best. however upon finding out that this is the owen beck who trained in miami and was pushed around in sparing by the 50 year old uriah grant i knew this guy had next to no chance and he still had barett cut and in trouble. if barett fights a live body next time jump on whoever is in the opposing corner.

No offense, but unless he is fighting Vitali, Toney, Ruiz, Byrd, or Rahman, I wouldnt bet on the opponent. The guy showed a ton of toughness, and impressed me alot. By the way, the cut came from a accidental headbutt, not a punch. Also, looking at his record, Beck was better than I expected. The guy does have some skills, he just seems to leave himself wide open for counters, whch eventually did him in. All in all, it was an entertaining fight.

cant help with mormeck. Never saw him. But people who should know believe that he very strong good chin. The fight is pretty much a pick em if Braithwait or what is his name fucks around to much and showboats around he gets kd.

Have you seen Levin fight, I am thinking about taking a chance against Valuev who is solid but to slow and WIDE open for right hand power shots (he is making himself small but doesnt have the timing of Vitali to get out of the way. The italian guy Vidoz landed 5 or 6 shots full power but that Valuev guy has a crazy head like Purrity and is stunned only very briefly... Vidoz told tha the hurt both hands against that head.
If i see a nice under or Leviin via KO i take a shot no value in playing Valuev.
I would like a high profile fight with Valuev as dog.

Sam vs Clay...
I like Sam to much to bet against him and he is on his way getting better faster and hits harder but if somebody is slick and can box for 12 rounds he has problems waiting for weigh in

Tsypko fight is cancelled
I was very excited about his fight against markussen

@ Hilo
Why didnt you tell the grant story before the fight ? I mean i didnt even know you were talking about the right guy. If i had that info maybe i would have bet alittle more. Anyway it was a close fight

hardcore the only reason barett finishes was because he was fighting a stiff in beck and he still got in trouble. he was dead beat in the mesi fight and true he hung in and came back but that was mostly because of mesi. as far as the cut it looked like a headbutt but i think nady called it a punch.

sp i did not find out he sparred with grant and tommy martin till late but i did post a few times during the week saying if this was the miami guy forget about him.

Well Thats your take, and I can agree in some aspects. I still think Barrett is his own worst enemy, leaving himself open for big counters, that get him in trouble. To his credit, he can find ways out of trouble, and shows alot of heart. All im saying is that in todays sorry heavyweight division, thats alot more than most of the fighters can say. He isnt an all time great, but I would include him in my top 10 HW's of today

hardcore,

don't forget that beck was originally scheduled to be an opponet for james toney. if they thought he was tough toney would not have taken that fight as his fight before a title shot.

No I dont think he is tough, but I do think he is better than a club fighter. Maybe Journeyman level. Ettienne level fighter, with a better chin. He would be tailor-made for Toney.

larios and sam had better get it done....i`ve got them hooked up fairly large(for me).........i`m thinking that in germany....with clay-bey turning 40 this year....after losing by tko to relatively small, relatively light hitting elicer castillo.....and by decision to cliff etienne....that sam will muster enough to get the job done....

if clay bey finally decides at 39 to get into tip-top shape and beats sam,so be it......i`ll lose.....i do wish sam was a bit quicker afoot...

i expect clay bey to tip in at around 250 or 260........i`m thinking sam has more than enough to get it done....sam has been very busy...he`s actually a little taller....and should walk clay-bey down...i think sam is a decent fighter..and might be getting better..

i wouldn`t be surprised by a mid to late round stoppage...clay bey`s resume is really quite soft,if you take a close look...

larios?...not crazy about this slap hitter....but he`s very busy....outworks everybody...

mccullough is also long in the tooth..has one fight in the last 2 years..has been inactive.....may be damaged goods......all recent fights with the exception of scott harrison have been opponents.........should get outworked....i don`t think that he can take larios out...

fighting a mexican in l..a......who do you think that favors?....

larios-busy...younger...more active...on a roll...favorable venue.....

mccullough-in the twilight of a nice career...durable...questionnable head injury...took a beating from harrison in next to last fight...

sam-bigger puncher......decent skills...a little slow afoot....very favorable venue...has been active....younger...seems to be improving...german promoters would not want sam to lose here....he is one of their potential meal tickets in a sick heavyweight division...

clay bey-way long in the tooth(going on 40)...doesn`t always get into tip top shape...has lost to mediocre fighters...been stopped by a less than powerful puncher.. has no height advantage....can box...will try and outbox sam....will try and jab way to a win...will be tough to do over 12 long rounds...given his age and usual poor conditioning.....have to believe that the germans believe that sam will get it done...if he loses,he might be done as a contender...

sam worries me more than larios....

wondering about including the over in the larios fight...but,mccullough may possibly be shot...

The problem with Sam he has no reverse gear, if the other guy dont walk away it gets tough and you can hit him but seems to take punches good and deliver very accurate combination no body work though but outstanding uppercuts. i would love a round proposition 7- 10.
if i get my lazy butt up i take a look at the press training on wednesday but i doubt it but maybe.
if Typko would fight i would go to the event. Its actually a good location for boxing with a good a atmosphere. (Max Schmeling stadium)
BTW R.i.P Max. (Died last wednesday 99 years old and still in good shape)
